Interactive Media Wall
College of Media & Communications at the University of the Arts 2007
Retro televisions and a larger-than-life rear LCD projection are networked together, creating a seven-point interactive display system. The system features videos from YouTube and RSS feeds of any blog found on the internet as well as custom content created within the university.
The surface of the interactive media wall is constructed in frosted glass. Standing 7 feet tall by 20 feet wide, it uses infrared sensors to interpret hand gestures into meaningful interaction, allowing a person to browse and play with a variety of media.
All of the content stored in the system is managed through a web-based administrative interface making remote management of content and playlists possible.
